The first trailer for A Long Way Down has been released.

Unveiled exclusively through Digital Spy, the trailer for Pascal Chaumeil’s black comedy features Pierce Brosnan, Toni Collette, Aaron Paul and Imogen Poots as four suicidal people who meet on top of a London skyscraper on New Year’s Eve.

Adapted from Nick Hornby’s novel of the same name, the story begins with this chance encounter where the four – a disgraced chat show host, a single mother, a failed musician and a troubled teenager respectively – foil each other’s attempts to commit suicide in solitude.

After making a pact to postpone their suicides until Valentine’s Day, they begin to form a surrogate family.

A Long Way Down will have its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival next month.

The film will then be released on March 21 in the UK, with a US release date yet to be set

    • Absolutely no offence to Toni Collette, who’s an excellent actress, and she can “do” Hornby, and Irish… but excellent CASTING??
Maureen is supposed to be “this little old lady” who looks like “somebody’s cleaning lady” – TC is not old (nor does she look it) , she’s not little/ small, she is good at the shy guy performance, but she is definitely a far cry from this nondescript, boring-looking, elderly Irish woman – and a nude dufflecoat and BOOTS, when half the comments in the book are about sensible raincoats and sensible shoes… sorry, I don’t get it. She worked fine as she was.
